Lorraine was born at Coonabarabran in 1914, the eldest of seven childrento Donald and Annie Matheson. She graduated from Parramatta High School and commenced work as astenographer in a Sydney office. She married Alexander Ringland inNeutral Bay in Sept 1939. Three children were born of the union, James from Toms Creek; KerryKingsbury at Canberra and Donald Hazelbrook. Lorraine also leaves sevengrandchildren; Kathleen, Jennifer, Darcy Ben, Sally, Christopher andAlexander who were her special joy. During her married life, Lorraine made moves with her husband in hisschool teaching career. She was herself employed for many years as ahome economics mistress. Retiring initially at Glenbrook, Lorraine felt it important for Alex toreturn to his home district, so they moved to Wauchope nine years ago. Lorraine immediately adopted Wauchope as home and Wauchope adopted her.She involved herself in the community as a member of variousorganizations including Legacy Torchbearers, Pink ladies, the HistoricalSociety, Masonic Ladies, Wauchope Show Society and Senior Citizens. Her Wauchope years provided Lorraine with many close friendships whichshe cherished. She will be sadly missed by all who know her.1
